FAQ-3430
Why have the hazard symbols accompanying products changed?
The Globally Harmonized System (GHS) is an initiative by the United Nations aiming to harmonize chemical hazard communication worldwide. Hazards symbols accompanying products are changing to those of the GHS. Information on the adoption of this new system is available on our GHS Hazard Labeling pages.

Tube Magnet
The QIAGEN tube magnet is a convenient separation device for use in cell separation, magnetocapture, immunoassays and purification of 6xHis-tagged proteins. The beads are pulled to the side of the tube by the magnetic field, which has a strength of greater than 20 megaoersted, and are held in place while solutions are exchanged or removed. Removal of the magnetic field allows easy resuspension of the magnetic particles.
QIAgility Consumables
QIAgility consumables are for use with the QIAgility for rapid, high-precision PCR setup.
24-Well Blocks RB
24-well blocks with 10 ml square wells and round bottoms for growing, harvesting, and lysing bacterial protein expression cultures of up to 5 ml prior to protein purification.
Rotor-Gene Q Accessories
Rotor-Gene Q Accessories are for use with the Rotor-Gene Q for outstanding performance in real-time PCR.
QIAsymphony SP/AS Accessories
QIAsymphony SP/AS Accessories are for use with the QIAsymphony SP/AS instruments for automated sample preparation and assay setup. When ordering adapters, ensure that you order the correct adapter for the software version that you are using.
96-Well Magnet Type A
The 96-Well Magnet Type A can be used with Ni-NTA Magnetic Agarose Beads for high-throughput 6xHis-tagged–protein magnetocapture assays or purification procedures. The magnet consists of an array of 24 powerfully magnetic NdFeB (neodymium-iron-boron) rods that fit between the wells of commercially available 96-well microplates. Each magnetic rod attracts the beads in four adjacent wells to the sides of the wells and keeps the beads in place while the buffer is exchanged. The magnetic beads are very easily resuspended in buffer once removed from the magnet, allowing thorough washing and elution. Appropriate flat-bottom microplates (96-Well Microplates FB) are supplied with the 96-Well Magnet Type A.
96-Well Microplates FB
96-well microplates with 370 µl flat-bottom wells that are for use with the 96-Well Magnet Type A. The microplates sit securely on the magnet, allowing magnetic beads to be collected on the sides of the wells. Two of these microplates are provided with the 96-Well Magnet Type A.
96-Well Microplates MP
96-well microplates for use with the BioSprint 96, an instrument that delivers rapid and economical automated preparation of 1–96 samples using magnetic-particle technology.
96-Well Microplates RS
96-well microplates with 300 µl round-bottom wells that fit into the QIAvac 96 or BioRobot Universal vacuum base and are used to collect eluted nucleic acids. Lids are provided for convenient storage of eluted samples.
