What should be the concentration of my protein for the Nextal Cubic Phase products?
As with any proteins, the concentration to use for protein crystallization will depend on many factors, however, as a rule of thumb, crystallization in lipidic cubic phase requires lower concentration. Concentration as low as 2–5 mg/ml could be a good starting point. If enough protein is available, it is also possible to try with a much higher concentration (20 – 30 mg/ml). It is important to keep in mind that when concentrating your solution, the concentration of other components in the protein solution such as the lipids will also proportionally increase. In general it is recommended to try several protein concentrations.
