Can the PAXgene Blood RNA System be used to isolate DNA?
No. The PAXgene Blood RNA System has been optimized for cellular RNA only. PreAnalytiX offers the dedicated PAXgene Blood DNA Tube and a system (tube and kit) for collection and isolation of genomic DNA from human whole blood (see PAXgene Blood DNA system).

The PAXgene Blood RNA system consists of PAXgene Blood RNA Tubes (available from BD, cat. no. 762165) for blood collection, stabilization, and transport, and the PAXgene Blood RNA Kit for silica-membrane-based RNA isolation and purification in a spin-column format. Purification can be carried out manually, using a microcentrifuge, or automated on the QIAcube Connect MDx.
