PAXgene Blood DNA Tube (IVD)
The PAXgene Blood DNA Tube (IVD) is intended to collect, anticoagulate, stabilize, transport, and store a venous whole blood sample for preparation of human DNA for use with molecular diagnostic test methods that require DNA. The performance characteristics of this device have not been established for molecular diagnostic assays in general. Users must validate the use of a product for their specific molecular diagnostic assay. The intended use and claims have been validated with the QIAamp DSP DNA Blood Mini Kit (IVD) and the QIAsymphony DSP DNA Kit (IVD).
PAXgene Blood miRNA Kit
The PAXgene Blood miRNA System consists of the PAXgene Blood miRNA Kit for purification of total RNA, including RNA longer than approximately 18 nucleotides, and PAXgene Blood RNA Tubes (available from BD, cat. no. 762165) for collection, stabilization, and transport of blood. Purification is carried out using silica-based RNA purification technology in a spin-column format. Purification can be carried out manually, using a microcentrifuge, or automated on the QIAcube Connect. Used with the tubes, the kit provides a complete preanalytical solution for collection and stabilization through to purification of high-quality total RNA, including miRNA, for molecular analysis.
PAXgene Blood RNA Kit (IVD)
The PAXgene Blood RNA System consists of a blood collection tube (PAXgene Blood RNA Tube) and a nucleic acid purification kit (PAXgene Blood RNA Kit). It is intended for the collection, storage and transport of blood and stabilization of intracellular RNA in a closed tube, and subsequent isolation and purification of host RNA from whole blood for RT-PCR used in molecular diagnostic testing.
Performance characteristics for the PAXgene Blood RNA System have only been established with FOS* and IL1B** gene transcripts. The user is responsible for establishing appropriate PAXgene Blood RNA System performance characteristics for other target transcripts.
*FOS is the gene symbol for human Fos Proto-Oncogene, AP-1 Transcription Factor Subunit.
**IL1B is the gene symbol for human Interleukin 1 Beta.
PAXgene Bone Marrow RNA Kit
The PAXgene Bone Marrow RNA System consists of PAXgene Bone Marrow RNA Tubes, for stabilization, storage, and transportation of bone marrow, and the PAXgene Bone Marrow RNA Kit, for silica-membrane-based RNA isolation and purification in a spin-column format. Bone marrow samples are collected using standard medical practices, with commonly used anticoagulants. A 2 ml sample is immediately transferred into a PAXgene Bone Marrow RNA Tube, which stabilizes the RNA in the sample for storage at room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen. RNA can be purified days later using the PAXgene Bone Marrow RNA Kit or archived for several months at –20°C or –70°C.
PAXgene Tissue RNA/miRNA Kit
Tissue samples fixed and stored in PAXgene Tissue Containers can be paraffin-embedded and used for pathological studies as well as for subsequent purification of miRNA, RNA, and/or DNA. The PAXgene Tissue miRNA Kit provides purification of total RNA, including RNA from approximately 18 nucleotides, from tissues fixed and stabilized in PAXgene Tissue Containers. Purification is carried out using silica-based RNA purification technology in a spin-column format. Used with the containers, the kit provides a complete preanalytical solution for collection, fixation, and stabilization through to purification of high-quality miRNA and total RNA for molecular analysis.
